A tropical day, close up.
Bali Zoo is in Singapadu village, just south of Ubud. What separates it from Bali Safari is scale and pace: it is smaller, walked entirely on foot, and the paths run through tropical planting. A shaded, slow day that works with children.
In the bird feeding area, parrots land on your arm while you hold the feed cup. The orangutan, Sumatran tiger, Komodo dragon and elephant sections are the park’s main stops. Keepers run feeding and talks at set times; your guide gives you that day’s schedule.
The programme is a half day — four to five hours. It is fifteen minutes from Ubud, so the most popular pairing is the zoo in the morning and Ubud town in the afternoon.
