A small island, short distances, slow roads

The best thing about Sri Lanka is its scale: it doesn’t demand two weeks. You can be in tea country in the morning, in a safari jeep that afternoon and in the ocean the next day. The distances are short but the roads are slow — that is where the real planning sits.

The order we build the route in depends on the season. The two sides of the island get different monsoons, and we can tell you from the start which coast is open on your dates.

Where to start

We don’t print prices because every route is built differently. These are here to give you a shape — tell us which one you lean towards and we’ll go from there.

FAQ

Common questions

To see tea country, safari and the coast together, 9–11 nights is comfortable. With a week, choosing either the interior or the coast is far more enjoyable.

The two sides of the island get different monsoons. The south and west coasts are clearer from November to April, the east coast from May to September. Tell us your dates and we’ll build the route around them.
The Kandy–Ella line is the part most guests talk about afterwards. Reserved carriages need to be booked ahead, and we build that into the planning.
