Thailand

Bangkok’s pace, the calm of the north, the water in the south — you decide how much of each.

There are three Thailands — which one do you want?

Thailand is not one place: Bangkok is a city break, Chiang Mai and the north are a slow mountain route, the southern islands are another rhythm entirely. Most ready-made packages squeeze all three into one list and leave each of them half-done.

We do the opposite. How many nights you have, what you’re curious about and how fast you want to move — we start there and build the route together. The dates, the hotel level and how full each day is are all yours.

Where to start

We don’t print prices because every route is built differently. These are here to give you a shape — tell us which one you lean towards and we’ll go from there.

Bangkok + the southern islands

The classic balance of city and water. Temples, the river and night markets in Bangkok, then south for a few days by the sea.

Sample itinerary

  1. DAY 1Bangkok — temples and the riverThe Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the morning. A boat across the Chao Phraya to Wat Arun in the afternoon. Street food in Chinatown in the evening.
  2. DAY 2From the city to the seaA domestic flight to Krabi or Phuket in the morning. Settle into your base, sunset on the beach.
  3. DAY 3An island dayBy longtail boat to the Phi Phi or Hong islands; swim stops and lunch aboard. You get back around sunset.

The north — Chiang Mai and the mountains

A cooler, greener Thailand away from the crowds. Elephant sanctuaries, hill villages and temples; longer days, fewer steps.

Sample itinerary

  1. DAY 1Chiang Mai — the old townTemples inside the old walls, then a break at a coffee roastery. The night market in the evening.
  2. DAY 2An elephant sanctuaryAn hour up the mountain road; feeding and a mud bath. No riding — we work with care-led sanctuaries only.
  3. DAY 3Into the mountainsWaterfalls and hill villages towards Doi Inthanon, or the winding road up to Pai. Not a fast day, but a long one.

Andaman or the Gulf

If you’re coming to swim and rest, staying in one region is best. There are two different seas and, depending on the season, one is calmer than the other.

Sample itinerary

  1. DAY 1Settle into one baseLand in Krabi or Samui, settle in and spend the first evening on the beach. We tell you which coast is calmer on your dates.
  2. DAY 2A boat dayThe four-island tour or the Angthong marine park; snorkelling, a sandbar and quiet bays.
  3. DAY 3A free dayBeach, spa, or diving if you want it. No programme — after three days, a gap helps.

FAQ

Common questions

For Bangkok plus one region, 7–8 nights is comfortable. If you want to add the north, anything under 10 nights starts to feel rushed. Combining with the islands means factoring in domestic flights — we work through that together when we draft the route.
No. You book the international ticket; we plan which flight fits the route, which connection is comfortable and how the domestic legs line up. Avo Travels does not sell or issue tickets.
November to March is usually the driest and easiest window. But Thailand has two different seas and their monsoon seasons don’t match — we can tell you which side is calmer on your dates.
Not our own team the way we do in Bali, and we say so plainly. We plan the route around your request; communication and planning run through us in Turkish or English. Local operations run through partners we choose.
